Sandyhill 3-3 Aungier Celtic
Sandyhill gaffer Brocko was very disapointed after losing the lead twice in their opening league game today. After going a goal down, Paul Creighton scored a cracker before Tommy Miley converted a penalty to send the "hill in at half time leading. We had enough chances to win and a couple of defensive errors let the opposition back in and Aungier worked hard enough to deserve a point but Sandyhill showed plenty of room for improvement.

Sandyhill Celtic 2-3 Killester United.
The 'Hill went down at home to the champs on a gloomy wet night in Coultry. We knew it would be tough but despite doing well in the early exchanges it was still disapointing when Killester converted a free kick early in the first half. We looked a bit rattled when they doubled their lead 15 minutes later but a half time chat with the boss soon had us focused again and early in the second half Joe O'Sullivan made no mistake to close the gap but when United where awarded a very soft free kick the gap was back to two as another set piece was converted. Kanu pulled one back with a fine header but Killester held on to take all three points. Everyone will be dissapointed however once we are willing to learn from our mistakes we will continue our progress. Next up WFTA at home next thursday night.

Bellurgan 1-2 Sandyhill Celtic
Sandyhill kicked off in Premier A with a tough away fixture against Bellurgan but ended up taking all three points. The tough pre-season really paid off as we got off to a flyer nearly scoring in the first minute. Sandyhill where creating chance after chance and it was only a matter of time before a score game and when it did it was Stephen Coleman who put us ahead in style. The second half was more of the same and Steo doubled our lead after 56 minutes. Bellurgan eventually pulled one back but never really looked like getting back in the game and it was a dream start to life in premier A for everyone at the club. Next up --- Premier A champions Killester in Coultry Park.

Sandyhill 2-6 Wfta
Broko's boys ran out of steam in the last 15 minutes after putting in a great performance against WFTA;s Senior Saturday team. The 'Hill took the lead only for WFTA to equalize with a penalty just before half time. Sandyhill where well in the game until wfta went when the WFTA;s fitness began to pay dividends but it was a worthwhile game for Brocko and the Saturday team is developing nicely just in time for the Season opener in 2 weeks.

Sandyhill 0-0 Killester
Sandhill lost out on penaties after a gritty scoreless draw against Premier A champions Killester. Once again we had the chances to win the game as the excellent Sandyhill defence kept out the killester strikers. Overall the Frank Cooke tournament gave big Gaz an excellent opportunity to have a look at his players and we would like to thank everyone at Tolka Rovers for inviting us to take part and treating us so well.

Broko's boys lost 2-0 to local rivals St Pats/Phonix but the manager was not too unhappy as he was satisfied with the commitment that the Saturday lads showed. The 'Hill where very much in the game all the way through and with more games coming up on tuesday and Saturday there will be plenty of oppertunity for what is basically a new team to gell together.

Tolka Rovers 1-1 Sandyhill Celtic
Sandyhill win on pens ( god knows what score)
Sandyhill surprised hosts, Tolka Rovers, by coming out on top after a dramatic penalty shoot out. On front of a large crowd the "Hill battled hard and where very well organised. At times Tolka dominated possesion but failed to turn it into genuine goal chances while in turn Sandyhill created several one on one chances but failed to convert. Tolka looked comfortable after they went ahead in the 25th minute but after Daryl leeper forced Tolka into an own goal the 'Hill where very much back in the game. After 90 mins the game went into penalties and after Sandyhill missed their first two it was looking like another hard luck story but Tommy cullen dragged us back into the game with a super stop and after much heart stopping minutes Keith Gavin was the man who banged home the winning penalty. Many thanks to everyone at Tolka Rovers for inviting us into the tournament and for treating us so well. The final will be against either Killester or Beggsboro tomorrow at 3pm.
